Big Blue

It’s not often we have a client nickname the project, but Big Blue was definitely that. A client’s new home had a very narrow laundry room. Frustrated with the lack of storage space and finding that off-the-shelf options either did not fit or offered little functionality, the client tasked us with creating more storage out of little space. Utilizing their high ceilings but addressing the narrow passage through the laundry room, we custom-built floor-to-ceiling cabinets to maximize every inch. The client’s father was a former US Marine, and she had grown up living on various Marine bases. As a nod to his years of dedication and service, she opted to have them painted the appropriately named Sherwin-Williams Dress Blues from the USMC dress blues uniform. For scale in the photo - I am 6’3” (and also a former Marine - semper fi!)
