Murphy Bed’s (named after inventor William Murphy) have seen a rise in popularity as people seek to maximize their space - gone are dedicated guest rooms untouched for most of the year - giving way to rooms with flexible use. It’s such a recognizable name to the public, the concept of a disappearing bed, that it is no longer trademarked. Murphy beds offer a practical solution. Ideal for small apartments, home offices, or guest rooms, their convenience and ease of use allows for transitions between different functions, making them a practical and stylish.

This disappearing bed was installed in a home in downtown Orlando. The clear sealed maple gives the unit a lightness in feel and the natural look of the wood is elegant without decor. The queen sized unit is fit out with an accompanying book case and drawer unit - the overhead cabinet is hinged with a drop down door with a matching soft close drawer at the bottom providing lots of storage. The inner shelves are adjustable.

This functional and attractive bed unit offered a way for the owner to utilize the space for work but now has a comfortable guest bed available.
